First you must have a registered domain name. You are free to register your domain name from any of the domain registrars. You can visit companies such as www.1and1.com for .Com domain name registrations and www.Netfirms.ca for .CA domain names. As your Looknow.ca includes website hosting, emails and other related web services, please register domain name only.

 

Once you have registered your domain name, update your domain name DNS setting to

Once you have done this you can simply submit domain attach request form on your admin control panel or email us at info@looknow.ca to have your domain name attached to your website.

Once you have attached your domain name to your Looknow.ca website, you can create personalized email addresses. For example info@yourdomainname.com

 

To activate your personalized email, simply log into your Looknow.ca admin control panel and submit a email activation request form. You can also email us at info@looknow.ca to request to have your personalized email address created.

 

Once your email address has been created, we will email you simple email setup instructions.

Updating and managing your website is easy with Looknow.ca. Simply log into your admin control panel from your website and click “Web Pages” to add/edit/delete your web pages. Our easy to use CMS makes website updates a snap!

 

If you want to test different functions and features you can create a test page and apply variety of changes to see how they work!

 

If creating new content, we recommend that you first prepare and save your website content using programs such as Microsoft Word.

Log in to your admin control panel from your website and click “Site Traffic” button on top right corner of your screen. You’ll be able to view variety of statistics on your website including number of Unique Visitors, Most Viewed Pages, Weekly Stats, Daily Stats and much more!

In order to create your photo gallery, from your admin control panel click “Web FTP” menu and upload your images to a selected folder. You can create a folder to place all your images and organize them. For example, if its product gallery then you can create a folder named “Product Gallery”.

 

Once you have uploaded your images, next step is to click "Web Pages" menu and click “Create New Page” button. Enter your photo gallery name and select “Gallery” option from your radio selection buttons.

 

Once you have completed this simply select the folder where you have uploaded your images to and your photo gallery page will be created automatically!

When creating a new page at the bottom of the page you’ll find a “Page Access Code” field. You can enter any alpha numeric password in this field. When website visitors click to this access this page they will be asked to enter the login password. You may edit your “Page Access Code” at anytime. This is a great way to create a private section on your website and create member access which is different from open public access.

You can easily add youtube video links directly into your webpage. Each web page you create has “Script Top” and “Script Bottom” field. Simply copy the embed link from Youtube and insert it into either top or bottom script field. Doing this will directly insert your Youtube video into your web page.

 

Other scripts maybe entered in these fields as well which allows you to easily add different scripts and web applications directly into your website instantly.

Using our webmail, you can check your email anywhere with computer and internet connection. Webmail is included as part of your Looknow.ca plan and there is no limit as to how often you can use it.

Yes. Simply log into your webmail and click “Options” tab to forward your emails. You can even set it to create a copy of your email so that one email is sent directly to your computers inbox while separate copy can be sent to your mobile devices such as Blackberry and Iphone.

Yes. Simply log into your webmail and click “Options” tab and check “Auto Responder” box. You can enter your away message on the text field. When someone emails you, your auto responder email along with your entered message will be sent. When you have returned from your vacation, you can simply turn off your “Auto Responder” box.
